Te Aroha

Welcome to

Historic and filled to the brim with old-world charm! Te Aroha is nestled at the foot of Mount Te Aroha, the highest point in the Kaimai Range. This beautiful rural town in the Waikato region is renowned for its gorgeous scenery, soda water geyser and warm, welcoming community.

Mt Te Aroha, the mountain of love, is the highest point in the Kaimai ranges and flows to the Coromandel. Te Aroha has the only mineral hot soda water geyser in the world with thermal hot water tubs.

With around 30,000 bathers visiting each year in the late 1800s, Te Aroha became the most popular spa town in New Zealand. Flowing from beneath Mount Te Aroha, the natural hot soda springs were renowned as a cure-all. Overlooking the Edwardian Domain sits Domain House Beauty offering a range of beauty and massage treatments.

Varying in temperature, some mineral springs contain naturally infused underground sodium bicarbonate, resulting in natural hot soda springs. And an effort to improve access to the soda water resulted in a bore being sunk in the 1930s - this resulted in the Mokena Geyser, the world's only hot water geyser. The geyser is named after the Maori Chief who gifted the land.

If you're dreaming of a little lifestyle, old-fashioned charm and the reassurance of a home that's been extensively renewed from the ground up, this delightful bungalow deserves your attention! Just minutes from the tranquil township of Te Aroha, this recently relocated bungalow sits proudly on a generous 2,546sqm section, capturing majestic, uninterrupted views of the Kaimai Ranges. And while the character and charm remain, much of the hard work has already been done. Extensively renovated and updated, the home boasts new foundations, a new roof, updated wiring and plumbing, double-glazed windows retaining timber joinery, a brand-new septic system and water tank. The kitchen and both bathrooms are also new, creating a home that feels wonderfully fresh, modern and ready to enjoy. Inside, you'll find two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two living areas, with the flexibility to easily convert the second living room back into a third bedroom if your needs require. A cosy wood burner sets the scene for winter evenings, while a heat pump can keep the air cool this summer. Step outside and discover one of the home's real highlights — a large covered deck stretching along the length of the house, perfectly positioned to soak up those spectacular mountain views. Imagine starting your morning with coffee with the sunrise, or winding down in the evening with a favourite tipple as the day's adventures are recounted. Completing the picture is a brand-new double garage and freshly poured concrete driveway, adding practicality and appeal to this charming country property. Our vendor has poured an incredible amount of heart and soul into creating this special home and is genuinely reluctant to leave. However, as we all know, circumstances can change in an instant - and now presents an opportunity for someone else to make it their own.

Some homes are all about the house. This one is just as much about everything around it. With uninterrupted views across the wetlands to Mount Te Aroha, this architecturally designed home offers something a little out of the ordinary. Inspired by modern Japanese architecture, its striking butterfly roofline, clean lines and thoughtful design make it a home that certainly doesn't follow the crowd. Stretching an impressive 26 metres, the home has been cleverly positioned to make the most of its surroundings, with beautiful outlooks, natural light and a wonderful sense of space throughout. At the heart of the home, a designer kitchen complete with scullery takes centre stage in the spacious, high-stud open-plan living and dining area. A separate media room, easily closed off with a cavity slider, gives everyone somewhere to escape when the TV choices don't quite align. Three bedrooms include a master suite with walk-in wardrobe, ensuite and direct outdoor access, while a separate study provides that all-important work-from-home space. The family bathroom, separate toilet and cleverly positioned vanity area make busy mornings that little bit easier. Outside, the setting does much of the entertaining. Relax and take in the views or step straight onto the wetlands walking track. With multiple easy-care outdoor spaces, there's plenty to enjoy without spending your weekends maintaining it all. And it's not just a pretty face. Substantial construction, full insulation, tinted toughened double glazing, two heat pumps and double internal-access garaging ensure comfort and practicality haven't been overlooked. Set on a 928m² section bordering the wetlands, the property enjoys a wonderful sense of openness and privacy, with nature providing an ever-changing backdrop. Architectural flair, an exceptional outlook and a home that's anything but ordinary. Not your everyday home. And that's exactly the point.
